Book: Forgiveness - Dani DiPirro

Monday, 4 May 2020

The night before I sleep, I usually fill up my planner and plan what I am going to do the next day. One of the task today is to read a book. To be honest with you, I haven't read for so long. So I decided by hook or by crook, I have to read a book. I went to my bookshelf and pick a new book that I bought during Big Bad Wolf last year. It was still wrapped with plastic and it means I took about five months to read this book.

This book titled FORGIVENESS. It is a self-help book. It took me less than 30-minutes to finish as it is very light and forward kind of book. The book is full of quotes and reflections related to forgiveness. If you think that it is hard to forgive someone or even yourself, read this book and it will change the way you think. Here are some of my favourite ones, hope it will help you much.

F O R G I V E N E S S

1. The act of letting go of anger or blame toward another person.
2. The attitude of being willing to forgive

If you cling closely to the wrongs done to you, they will come to define who you are and prevent you from being who you want to be. Note how much time you have wasted focusing on your hurt. Try talking it through with a friend or writing it down, then let it go and move forward.

Looking back all the time will not help you live the life you want. You cannot change what's been done, but you can influence how you act from now on. Make today - and future days - brighter by choosing to forgive yourself now for mistakes you've made in the past.

"It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop." - Confucius

It is good to forgive ourselves when life becomes challenging and we feel like we're failing to reach our goals. Sometimes just staying in the same place is victory in itself. Accept that we all move at a different pace, depending on circumstances.

When someone very dear to you dies or moves on from your relationship, it's natural to feel betrayed or angry. Forgive those who are no longer in your life, whatever pain they caused in the leaving of it. Such losses can help you appreciate relationships you're still lucky to have - and life itself.

"Let us forgive each other - only then will we live in peace." - Leo Tolstoy

Do you find it is hard to forgive someone?

  4. Susah sangat rasa nak maafkan orang yang kita tak sayang, haha, kalau sayang senang je. :P. cuma tu la kalau tak maafkan, kita bebankan diri kita dengan asyik memikirkan orang tu sedangkan dia bersenang lenang atas kesusahan dan kesedihan kita.

    1. Betul, setuju dengan Mai. Kadang bila kita dah maafkan seseorang tu, hidup kita lagi better dari sebelumnya sebab tak perlu fikir hal dia dah lepas tu.
